CONFERENCES

August 10, 2018, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: The American University of Central Asia (AUCA) is delighted to announce keynote speakers for Nomadism, Mobilities and Media international conference, which will be held at AUCA, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, August 29-30, 2018. The conference is dedicated to the World Nomad Games III, and will bring together an international pool of participants from across the globe.

 

AUCA’s Journalism and Mass Communication together with Television, Cinema and Visual Arts, hosting the conference, invited researchers, interested to study mobilities of people, information and mass communications in different parts of the world. Among the participants are scholars, academics, journalists and media professionals from 15 countries, working in diverse environments and cultural backgrounds and united by the desire to explore nomadism and mobility concepts of today and the past.  International keynote speakers include:

 

  • Shin Dong Kim, PhD, professor, School of media & communication, director, Institute for communication arts & technology, Hallym University, South Korea
  • Nello Barille, PhD, associate professor, IULM University of Milan, media studies, political cultures and communication
  • Peyami Çelikcan, PhD, professor, dean and vice president of İstanbul Şehir University college of communications
  • Asma Kalybekova, doctor of pedagogics, professor, member of the Academy of humanities of the RK, member of the Academy of pedagogical sciences of the RK, member of the International academy of psychological sciences, Shymkent, Kazakhstan
  • Tynchtykbek Chorotegin, doctor of historical sciences, professor, the Kyrgyz History Society, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
  • Оktyabr Kapalbaev, candidate of historical sciences, professor, Arabaev Kyrgyz State University, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

 

The Conference participants will have an opportunity to visit World Nomad Games III in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul, on September 2-3. They will attend the Nomad Games’ official opening ceremony, visit the Kyrchyn ethnocultural village, as part of a spectacular program, and bring back home new impressions and ideas of nomads’ sports, culture and lifestyle.
