Our department is engaged in a number of interesting initiatives, projects and international conferences. Here is a tally of recent and/or ongoing initiatives:

• Ilim Elim, a first-of-its-kind video encyclopedia comprised of lectures on an array of subjects given by experts in the Kyrgyz language.

• Our Media Clinic that assists local news agencies and journalists to troubleshoot the news-writing process.

• Data Journalism Institute that trains media professionals in the tools and techniques for using data to tell news-stories.

• The 2017 Biennial Conference of the World Communication Association, the first-ever held in Kyrgyzstan by the world’s second-largest international communications academic association.
