INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED OF ALL STUDENTS
It is required that all TVCA students undergo two internships during their studies:
GENERAL RULES OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Each internship is worth three credits (total: six credits).
Students receive a Pass/Fail grade for their internship (total: two grades).
Every autumn semester, the students must make a presentation (“defense”) about their internship to a panel of judges (“defense panel”):
For example, if you were a sophomore TVCA student during your First Internship during the Autumn 2017-Spring 2018 academic year, you would make your defense in the Autumn 2018 semester for your grade.
The grade is applied retroactively, meaning that officially you have an “Incomplete” until the defense panel gives you a pass or fail.
SPECIAL RULES OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
If you fail either internship, you must consult with the department chair about what, if anything, can be done.
Not responding to communications from the TVCA department about the internship can cause you to fail the program. (In general, you should make a habit to check your e-mail regularly!)
Although in principle the First Internship should occur within AUCA, if you have a unique opportunity outside of the university you should consult with the department chair for permission to do this instead. In such cases, you must also complete an internship contract with the organization.
