INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

INTERNSHIPS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL JMC STUDENTS

It is required that all JMC students undergo two internships during their studies:

  1. First Internship occurs during the second (“sophomore”) year and can be inside AUCA, at the New Star student newspaper, PR office or other media-related project. It can also be outside AUCA, at a media organization, media-related institution or PR department of the student’s choice.
  2. Second Internship occurs during the third (“junior”) year and is outside AUCA at a media organization or media-related institution of the student’s choice. When outside AUCA, the student must sign a contract with the organization and be assigned to the internship company’s supervisor.

GENERAL RULES OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

By the end of internship, students must take an official letter from the company.

Together with internship supervisor, a student must fill “Me and My Career” form.

Every autumn semester, the students must make a presentation (“defense”) about their internship to a panel of judges (“defense panel”) showing their portfolio of completed works and presenting the Internship “Me and My Career” form.

Each internship is worth three credits (total: six credits).

Students receive a Pass/Fail grade for their internship (total: two grades).
